Hi, I’m T.J. Marie
I am glad you're here.
Alot of the time, people end up here when they have exhausted all their resources without relief.
I was this person, 8 years ago.
After a rock-climbing accident in 2018, I was left in chronic pain that made me let go of my yoga and acro-yoga career, which at the time was soaring. I didn’t break any bones, but my body was deeply affected, jolted, contorted, and slammed into lava rock in Maui. I limped away fueled by adrenaline and positivity, but within a month I realized my body had been changed, was deeply out of balance and confused.
I tried everything I could think of: chiropractors, physical therapy, Feldenkrais, E-stimulation, steroid medication, massage, acupuncture, and more. I was exhausted, and eventually, I became hopeless.
After two to three years of this, I was connected with a Structural Integration practitioner in Crestone, Colorado, often referred to as a Rolfer; these terms describe the same work and are used interchangeably. Within the first ten minutes of the session, I knew I had found the person I had been searching for all along. She was calm, patient, mindful, and fully present. Her touch was unlike anything I had ever experienced. After so many intense sessions with practitioners who were trying far too hard to force my body to release, my nervous system finally felt safe enough to respond. Instead of being pushed, my body was met, listened to, and allowed to reorganize in its own time.
After about 10–15 sessions, and being worked on from every angle imaginable vs just laying down flat like massage, I stood taller than I ever had before and had even let go of patterns I had carried long before the accident. I felt present in my body again.
After two years of seeing my practitioner regularly, she shared that a new school had opened within the lineage she had trained in. She told me she believed I would be a great practitioner, not only because of my movement background, but because of my genuine curiosity, deep presence, and the way I engaged with and understood the work. Her confidence, combined with my growing fascination, encouraged me to seriously consider training. After 3-4 years of not teaching yoga, and reflecting on this experience, I felt I needed something more meaningful to offer to the worldy community.
Within five months, I quit my job and became the first student to graduate after intensive trainings that brought me to some of the greatest teachers across the United States. With a background in yoga, acrobatics, alignment, and mobility, I bring a keen and intuitive sense of the body. I would be honored to share this work with you, work that, quite frankly, saved my life.
Welcome to your Healing Journey.
When she’s not working with clients, T.J. finds restoration in the ocean, in movement, and in meaningful, hands-on living. From time in Maui or Kauai to community projects in Kenya, study & workshops, gardening, cooking, dancing, and caring for animals, her life is guided by curiosity, embodiment, and a deep respect for natural system. Values that quietly inform how she shows up in her work.
